I recently participated in a discussion about evolving B2B buying behavior and AI-driven customer journeys, which offered an interesting perspective on nurture marketing.
The core idea is that buyers rarely follow linear paths that marketers design. Instead, they move in fits and starts, crossing channels, consuming content when a need arises, and often returning later to continue their research.
As a result, future B2B experiences may focus less on email schedules and more on buyer interests. Rather than guiding someone through a predetermined sequence, marketers may create topic-based content hubs where buyers can explore blogs, webinars, videos, customer stories, and case studies in whatever order makes sense to them.
AI could further support this approach by using engagement signals, such as content consumption, searches, repeat visits, and event attendance, to help personalize the next interaction (ideally with dynamic content that serves up the most relevant and popular content available on that topic).
This dialogue provided an interesting perspective on where B2B marketing and journey mapping may be headed as buyer behavior continues to evolve.
